Akkord Industrial Construction Investment Corporation has completed the construction of the Sveneti-Ruisi road and a two-way tunnel. Director of the company's Public Relations and Advertising Department Afag Guliyeva told Trend on Tuesday.
The inauguration ceremony was held on November 28 with the participation of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Minister of Regions and Infrastructure Development R. Nikolaishvili, head of Akkord Industrial Construction Investment Corporation Khagani Guluzade and other officials.
On July 9, 2009, Akkord became one of the winners of the first tender for the construction of the Sveneti-Ruisi road in Georgia. This project consists of 3 lots and the length of the road built by the Corporation is 15 km in both directions. For Lots 1 and 2, Akkord-Georgia acts as a direct contractor / executor. Lot 1 of the project: total 4500 m / 5 bridges, 26 pipe crossings, 2 boxkvert, 2 asphalt conveyors; Lot 2: total 1450 m / 1 bridge-pier (877 m) / Roundabout: 2154 m / 1 bridge (160 m), 5 pipe-crossings (1500 mm - diameter), 78 mm long 500 mm pipe envisages the construction of the crossing. In Lot 3, Akkord-Georgia acts as a subcontractor. The lot envisages the construction of a 750 m x 2 two-way tunnel, 2 boxes, 3 pipelines with a total road length of 8,300 m.
The project was prepared by the “Kocks Group” and funded by the World Bank. The first highway is included in the category of roads and, in addition to being of strategic importance, this road is also part of the common highway connecting Georgia with Russia and Turkey. Akkord-Georgia started construction works on July 15, 2009, involved more than 900 specialists and workers, 600 technical equipment, 4 concrete plants, 3 stone crushers, 2 asphalt plants and 1 concrete slabs and pipe plant. built, as well as a garage, laboratory, dormitory, canteen for employees, medical center, office, etc. built.
At present, the work on the first lot has been completed and the set goal has been fully achieved. 4750 m long concrete paved and 1202 m long asphalt roads were built and bridges were built in the area. The main part of the work on the second lot has been completed, the construction of the 161 m long "By pass" bridge has been completed, the construction of an 877-meter-long bridge over the Liahvi River is underway. In the construction of the bridge, using new technologies and the method of displacement, parts of the bridge are placed on the step supports.
According to the contract, Akkord-Georgia has been working on the construction of the 3rd lot of the Sveneti-Ruisi road since August 2009 for the construction of 8,331 m of concrete paved road and 778 m of double-sided tunnel. At the end of November 2011, the Corporation successfully completed this project, completed the construction of a road and a two-way tunnel.
It should be noted that another major project in Georgia was completed by Akkord on November 15, 2010 - the construction and commissioning of a 15-kilometer section of the Samtskhe-Javakheti road in the direction of Tsalka-Nardevani, which stretches for 224 km to the Turkish border. was given.
At present, Akkord-Georgia is implementing important projects in the country, such as the construction of 8.3 km of Tbilisi-Tianeti, 10 km of Kutaisi-Tskhaltubo-Lentexi, 12.23 km of Kutaisi-Tkibuli-Ambrolauri roads.
It should be noted that Georgia is not the only country where Akkord has built roads and transport infrastructure abroad. Kazakhstan is one of the countries where Akkord Corporation successfully operates. As part of the Western Europe - Western China international road project, Akkord has won a tender for the construction of 107 km of asphalt roads in two lots in this country and thus achieved the recognition of its brand in Kazakhstan. At present, 50 percent of the earthworks have been completed on the road, and more than 40 km of roads have been asphalted.
In connection with the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev to improve relations with Uzbekistan in 2010, Akkord took part in a national exhibition in Uzbekistan, worthily represented Azerbaijan and expressed interest in participating in projects to be implemented in this country. In this country, the Corporation has won a tender for two lots in the construction of the Tashkent-Termez road and is currently preparing for the construction of the road.
At present, Akkord's subsidiaries also operate in Ukraine and Turkey.
