The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP)

The TANAP project, worth a total of 40 billion euros, is designed to transport natural gas produced in Azerbaijan through Georgia to Europe via Turkey. The project is of great strategic importance for Azerbaijan, Turkey and Europe. SICIM S.p.A., an Italian company, participated in the implementation of the project, which is of great political and economic importance, together with Akkord Industrial Construction Investment Corporation OJSC, and Yuksel Inshaat, a Turkish company. Despite the unfavorable weather conditions under the agreement signed on December 23, 2014, the partnership completed the 460 km pipeline under the project in full compliance with high safety standards, fully fulfilling its contractual obligations on schedule.

According to the project, the 460-kilometer section of the 1,850-kilometer pipeline passing through Turkey from the Georgian border to Eskişehir, covering 375-825 km of the second lot (Erzurum-Askala-Sivas-Yildizeli), will be constructed under the "Sicim-Yuksel- Akkord" partnership. During the construction of the line, 56-inch pipes with a wall thickness of 19.45 mm to 28.01 mm were used.

During the implementation of the project 1430 different construction machines were involved, 152 welding works were done during the day, 2898 people were involved.
